About Phillip
A graduate of the Inchbald School of Design, I trained with a well known London interior designer for 7 years and started my own interior design business in 2002. Until fairly recently, I was also the design director of a high end lifestyle and AV business.
My projects range from single rooms to complete houses, working with a variety of clients from private homeowners, to investors and developers. A current project is a contemporary new build in Hampstead, where I have been involved from the outset of the design stage, working closely with the architect, as the site has many challenges. At the other end of the spectrum my experience has included working on listed buildings and period houses and I am used to addressing the issues these projects can reveal.
As a keen developer who has bought, renovated and sold numerous properties, I am well versed in what’s needed to make the best of a property and maximise returns.
I believe that a key aspect of any commission is the understanding of the potential of the project and the requirements of the client. I take my inspiration from the client, understanding how they will live with and use the property, interpreting their tastes and delivering a project that exceeds their expectations, all in an acceptable time frame and with a keen eye to managing costs.
When looking at a project I can cover all aspects including planning applications, building control, electrical plans, plumbing, through to lighting design and soft furnishings and everything in between. From the first meeting, to handover day, I like to believe the process has been seamless and enjoyable, which is reflected in clients coming back time and again.
